Microsoft Surface Experiments
What happens when you give artists a Surface, ask them to create an original piece of art, and give them no further instruction?
This fall, we collaborated with our friends at Protein to tell the story of three artists who did just that. In Sunset Park Brooklyn, artist collective The Madbury Club realized their lifelong dream of converting an '80s Japanese cargo van into a mobile projection unit; designer Ellen Van Dusen departed from her signature textile work to explore experiments in additive and subtractive color; and LA-based illustrator Steven Harrington brought his chaotic, psychedelic illustrations to life with the help of animator Andy Baker.
On the night of a new moon in Southern Utah, a local guide, photographer and astrophysicist team up to find the best location to view a Class 1 sky - defined by the Bortle scale as among the Earth's darkest skies, with the best star visibility. Vacationland is excited to present the first of three films that celebrate our shared passion for adventure and discovering the undiscovered.
